Cost Estimator Position – Pittsburgh

EXTECH/Exterior Technologies, Inc., a rapidly growing premier designer, manufacturer and installer of highly engineered exterior daylighting window, skylight, canopy and curtainwall systems located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is currently recruiting for a Cost Estimator position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Review construction contract drawings and specifications, perform material takeoffs and generate project estimates utilizing estimating software programs as assigned daily.Prepare customer quotes as directed by the inside Sales group. Research and maintain material cost and test report data bases from material suppliers. Maintain quote log on a daily basis.Maintain estimating software spreadsheets.Provide estimating support to the Production group as requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma as a minimum; two-year technical school preferred.A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating in the construction industry. Excellent math skills.Familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel software programs. Ability to read and understand contract document drawings and specifications.Ability to perform material takeoffs.Good organizational and communication skills.DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:Technical aptitude with a desire to learn.Prior experience with estimating software.Experience in aluminum skylight or curtainwall framing systems a plus.Ability to multi-task and set priorities with consistent follow-through.Professional in demeanor and a true team player.Highly motivated, high energy, positive outlook with a strong work ethic.EXTECH offers an employee-friendly work environment, a competitive salary, excellent benefits package and 401(k).
