Categories: Architecture, Drafting, EngineeringENGINEERING POSITIONEXTECH/Extech Technologies, Inc., a rapidly growing premier designer, manufacturer and installer of highly engineered exterior daylighting window, skylight, canopy and curtainwall systems located in Pittsburgh, PA, is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer position.RESPONSIBILITIES:Design projects through 2D and 3D CAD; develop Bill of Materials, production drawings and other essential documents.Develop new extrusion dies for various applications.Participate in the design efforts for speculative product development and projects through regular interaction with architects, contractors, other engineering staff as well as sales and production departments.Oversee the testing and structural analysis of products or systems.Assist in estimating, component research, mockup development, installation procedures, QA/QC control and value engineering.Maintain project documents, data and files.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Two-year degree in Engineering or technical field.Minimum of two years design experience in extrusion, window/curtainwall or skylight systems.Excellent 2D and 3D CAD and computer skills, Inventor a plus.Ability to read and understand architectural contract drawings.Understanding of field construction practices.Experience with and working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Above average communication skills (verbal and written).DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:Technical aptitude with a desire to learn.Good organizational and time management skills.Ability to multi-task and set priorities with consistent follow-through.Keen attention to detail, crave challenges, quick learner.Professional in demeanor and a true team player.Highly motivated, high energy, positive outlook with a strong work ethic.Enjoys hands-on development of new ideas and products.EXTECH offers an employee-friendly work environment, a competitive salary with an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, life, disability and 401(k).
