Senior Health Care Analyst – Pittsburgh

GENERAL SUMMARY
Perform data analysis and design, develop, implement and support reporting solutions utilizing multiple technologies across different functional areas.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the identification and research of key business issues. Evaluates analyses conducted by other team members, departments and/or outside consultants.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analyses on a broad array of issues across disciplines, projects and functional areas. Structures and executes analysis independently.
- Prepares interpretations and reports of analyses, highlighting implications of findings, for project teams, business customers and/or department management.
Recommends suggested action steps based on the analytic results using sound business judgment.
- Assists in the development of project proposals, recommendations, implementation plans and documentation related to assigned projects.
- Designs, develops, implements and supports technical solutions for key business issues based on data analysis and research.
- Prepares and delivers data extracts / ad hoc reports per business customer requests and requirements.
- Contributes to department development by attending / conducting training, providing input on topics such as change management, development methodologies, coding standards, process improvement and new technologies.
- Performs other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically 3-7 years of information technology or consulting experience preferably in a healthcare or managed care environment focusing on software development.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and propose functional / technical solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development practices / methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability using SQL and with SQL Server programming (stored procedures, DTS packages, SSIS).
- Cognos or other BI tool experience is very beneficial.
- Web development experience is very beneficial.
- Must demonstrate effective communication, consulting, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
